Yahoo expected to confirm data breach affecting 200 million users: Report

 

Yahoo to go public about massive data breach affecting its 200 million users

Yahoo! Inc., is expected to officially acknowledge the massive data breach that took place last month with more than 200 million of users account exposed to hackers, Recode reports. While there is no confirmed information about the extent of the breach yet, the sources say that it is “widespread and serious” with the possibility of legal action and investigations led by the government.
Back in August, it was reported by Motherboard that a hacker going by the name of ‘Peace’ claimed to have breached Yahoo and put the usernames and passwords for over 200 million accounts up for sale. The same hacker has previously sold large data dumps of breaches related to Myspace and LinkedIn on a dark web marketplace called the Real Deal. The data dump allegedly included usernames, encrypted passwords, birthdays and other email addresses from 2012.
“It’s as bad as that,” one source told Recode. “Worse, really.”
The data was being sold for 3 bitcoins, worth $1,860 at the time. The company never issued password resets, a usual course of action taken by websites that would indicate of a hack. At the time, the company’s response to the hack was only that it was “aware of [the]claim” but did not confirm or deny that Yahoo users were affected.
The company said in a statement at the time, “We are committed to protecting the security of our users’ information and we take any such claim very seriously. Our security team is working to determine the facts.”
This news comes at a time when Yahoo is the middle of a mega-acquisition by Verizon in a $4.8 billion deal, which is yet to be approved by regulators and shareholders. So, it would be interesting to see if the deal would face repercussions due to the breach.
Yahoo is rumoured to make its announcement this week. If Yahoo confirms the news, this would become the biggest hack of its kind in the Yahoo history. If you own a Yahoo account, it would be ideal to change your password as soon as possible. Also, if you’re using the same Yahoo username and password combination elsewhere, it is recommended to change those as well.

How to Hack Admin Password using Guest login.

 



Press shift key 5 times and the sticky key dialog shows up.This works even at the logon screen. But If we replace the sethc.exe which is responsible for the sticky key dialog,with cmd.exe, and then call sethc.exe by pressing shift key 5 times at logon screen,we will get a command prompt with administrator privilages because no user has logged on. From there we can hack the administrator password,even from a guest account.  
Prerequisites
 
Guest account with write access to system 32.

Procedure To Hack windows XP administrator Password

Method 1 (Change Admin Password)

Here is how to do that -

1.Go to C:/windows/system32

2.Copy cmd.exe and paste it on desktop

3.Rename cmd.exe to sethc.exe

4.Copy the new sethc.exe to system 32,when windows asks for overwriting the file,then click yes.

5.Now Log out from your guest account and at the user select window,press shift key 5 times.

6.nstead of Sticky Key confirmation dialog,command prompt with full administrator privileges will open.

7.Now type “ NET USER ADMINISTRATOR aaa" where “aaa" can be any password you like and press enter.

8.You will see “ The Command completed successfully" and then exit the command prompt and login into
administrator with your new password.

9.Congrats You have hacked admin through guest account. Method 2 (Access admin without changing password)

Also, you can further create a new user at the command prompt by typing “NET USER How to hack /ADD" where " How to hack" is the username you would like to add with administrator privileges. Then hide your newly created admin account by -

Go to registry editor and navigate to this key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList


Here create a new " DWORD value", write its name as the “How to hack" (the username that you entered in the previous step),now you can live with your admin account forever enjoy

Why “C” is The Default Drive Of Your Computer Instead Of A or B?

 

Once upon a time it was hard to own a computer. Having a computer was such a luxury no one could easily afford. But, nowadays the number of computer owners are increased dramatically than it was guessed by the inventors. and why not ? it is the most important machine today. In the present situation of Tech world, there is no wonder if anyone says that computer is an essential part of a human.
Though you may be using the computer for many days, most probably there would be many things which were unknown to you. If you are using the computer for many days, then here is a question for you.

Have you ever wondered why the names of drives start from “C”?.

Where had the A and B drives gone?

Here is the answer to the question:



  • Hard disk drives became standard since 1980.
  • Before hard disk drives, Floppy disk drives were used as the storage devices.
  • Floppy disk drives were the initial storage devices.
  • They came to existence since 1960’s. Floppy disks came in two sizes 5 1/4 ” and 3 1/2″.
  • Those two floppy disk drives were labelled as Local Disk (A) and Local Disk (B).
  • After the invention of Hard disk, a floppy disk of size 8 inch came into existence.
  • Presently Floppy disk drives and Floppy disk drives replaced the floppy disks.
This is the reason behind the labelling of hard drives. As a result, drives other than default drive (C) labelled as D, E etc. DVD drive and USB drive are labelled as F, G and so on. Though “C” drive comes as the default, you can change it to A or B if you have the administrative rights.
